About Me
I’m Danielle :)
I help young professionals build careers that are aligned with their values, goals, and needs.
Who even am I?
Yes I know GIFs are cringe, but I’m a Zillennial who works with Gen Xers, they’re part of me now…
I’m a Gen Z young professional, born in 1998, hence the name, Gen Z Career Coach.
Over the past 8 years, I’ve learned so much about what makes for not just a fulfilling career, but a fulfilling life. I’ve landed some great positions that have supported me through many challenges eras and given me the chance to achieve so many goals, both personal and professional.
I want to help you do the same.
My Values
I don’t believe that life is just about work, or that hustle culture is the answer.
I do believe in putting your best foot forward and being strategic about your career, so you don’t sleepwalk into a life that isn’t aligned with your values.
There is so much that is out of our control in this world. But now more than ever, it’s important to focus on what is in your control, and take your career—and by extension, your whole life—into your own hands.
My Experience
I’ve had student jobs, casual jobs, freelance jobs, and even a full time job with those much coveted ~ benefits ~ (retirement contributions, tuition waivers, fancy trips to conferences, and yes, even pizza parties).
I’ve also been on multiple hiring committees for entry-level positions and I’ve seen firsthand what makes candidates shine. Despite what you may think, it’s not all about work experience! Sometimes, it really is the basics: readable resumes, tailored cover letters, strong interview answers, and thoughtful networking. Yes, there’s a lot of other factors involved, but if you don’t master the basics, you aren’t even giving yourself a fighting chance. That’s why I’ve built a business specifically to make career support accessible to people beyond traditional college career centers. Everyone deserves kind, understanding, individualized support in these stressful times.
I’m also a master’s student in clinical mental health counseling at Oakland University, and I’ve spent the past four years training to be a therapist. Not only do I have formal education in career counseling, but I’m trained in providing ethical, compassionate support that acknowledges all aspects of your humanity. (But please note, my services here are coaching and are not a replacement for mental health therapy!) You can trust that I’m not just some crook trying to swindle you. I’m committed to providing quality services that genuinely improve your life.
If you want to learn more about the specifics of my work experience, you can check out my LinkedIn or other business’s website—yes, it looks a lot like this one, work smarter not harder!
Beyond my coaching services, if you’re interested in any of the work I have experience in, feel free to reach out! It is very important to me to use my power and privilege to demystify work and open doors for others. I’m happy to do a short informational interview over Google Meet and answer any questions as best I can :)
